Ministries at Advent

ALTAR GUILD. Members of the Altar Guild prepare the sanctuary and elements for each service. They also take care of the linens and vestments of the church. Contact person: Diane Victor (489-9093)

ACOLYTES. The acolytes assist with the services. There is a need for young adult and adult acolytes. Contact person: Liz Herrick (291-4878)

BETH MOORE BIBLE STUDIES.  Offering the dynamic teaching of Beth Moore on issues concerning moderlife and a biblical worldview.  Trains women to think biblically and understantd the depth of God's Word.  Contact person: Ellen Lewis (361-7492)

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION. We offer both adult education and Sunday school. Sunday school is for children ages five through twelve. Adult education includes, Bible studies, Education for Ministry, and other programs throughout the year. CHOIR. The choir provides music for the Holy Eucharist and other services. Choir practice is on Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m. Contact person: Fr. Loring (861-6371)

CUB SCOUTS.  Pack 508 meets on Tuesdays at 6:30pm.  Cub Scouts is the elementary school-aged division that transitions into Boy Scouts.  Contact person:  Fr. Robert Lewis (361-5058)

HOSPITAL MINISTRY. On Mondays this ministry visits Episcopalians hospitalized at Monroe Regional and Ocala Regional Hospitals. Contact person: Pat Stewart (291-2207)

INTERFAITH. Each week teams deliver food and other items collected at Advent to Interfaith in Ocala for distribution. Contact person: Pat Stewart (291-2207)

LECTORS, LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS AND LAY EUCHARISTIC VISITORS. The Diocese of Central Florida has periodic training sessions for LEM's and LEV's. LEM's assist with the Eucharist at most services and LEV's take Holy Communion to shut-ins. Lectors assist in the reading of the lesson at Holy Eucharist services. PRAYER WARRIORS. This group prays for the needs of others here and around the world. Contact person: Sylvia Tinkler (237-2948)

SOCIETY OF MARY:  This group meets weekly after Thursday morning mass to pray the Rosary.  Contact person: Norman Lapointe (873-0307)

USHERS & GREETERS. Volunteers welcome and seat the congregation at each service and assist with the weekly offering. Contact person: Bill Lucia (873-0204)

WE CARE. This group reaches out to members of the congregation who are shut-in for various reasons. Transportation and meals are sometimes provided as well. Contact person: Deacon Bebe Hahne (401-0232)
